SRU MA Scholarships
An endowment from the Robert and Lisa Sainsbury Art Trust, made in 1986, includes provision for scholarships for MA applicants, UK or International, to assist with course fees, living costs, travel costs and visa costs, if applicable. Several scholarships are offered annually, ranging from full awards to part-awards to study allowances. All MA students receive a travel allowance (currently £500) to cover visits to museums, exhibitions and conferences in London and elsewhere.
Hermione Waterfield Scholarships
Hermione Waterfield, a friend of Robert and Lisa Sainsbury, has generously donated funds to support SRU MA students, in particular International students, for whom it is expensive to study in the UK.
All SRU and Waterfield scholarships are evaluated and awarded on the basis of applications, interview and merit; all outcomes are decided by the SRU Admissions Committee. The SRU is not able to consider funding support for students on courses not associated with the department.
UEA Alumni Fees Reduction
The University of East Anglia offers reduced MA course fees for those who have undertaken an undergraduate degree at UEA and who wish to proceed to an MA.
Chevening Scholarships
The SRU MA course is approved for Chevening Scholarships. These are awarded to candidates from many countries in the world to study for an MA degree in the UK. Please check their website for information: chevening.org/scholarships
MA Course Fees
In the interests of equality, the SRU charges the same fees for all MA students, UK and International, which is set at the UK fees level. For the 2025/26 MA Course, the course fees will be £10,675.
Please contact the SRU Admissions Office for further information.
